Industry experts from IDC, The Illinois Technology Association, Evans Data and several ISVs join advisory board designed to help shape future of Software DRM technology

CHICAGO, September 17, 2007 - Aladdin Knowledge Systems (NASDAQ: ALDN), the leader in Software DRM, USB-based authentication and secure Web gateways, today announced that several prominent industry leaders and Aladdin customers now serve on the Aladdin DRM Advisory Board (ADAB), a group that contributes valuable insight and recommendations for the direction of the software DRM market and tools for success.

ADAB, formed in March, also provides vital feedback to Aladdin management regarding the market-leading HASP family of software DRM solutions which are consistently ranked the most commonly used software protection, licensing and distribution products worldwide. In addition to 10 HASP customers, Aladdin announces the one-year appointment of three industry thought leaders to ADAB:

  • Sally Hudson, research director, Security Products and Services Group, IDC
  • Fred Hoch, President, The Illinois Technology Association (ITA)
  • John F. Andrews, President and CEO, Evans Data Corporation

The 400-member company industry group serves members in Chicagoland and throughout Illinois and exists to help grow the number of successful businesses that create, deploy and utilize information technology as a core part of their organization. Hoch joined ITA from the Washington, D.C.-based Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), where he served as vice president of software programs. In addition to ITA, Hoch works with companies nationally to address emerging and strategic issues of the software industry.

John F. Andrews
John F. Andrews is the President and CEO of Evans Data Corporation. Andrews brings a successful and diverse business background, having been CEO of several Information Technology based companies, both private and public. Prior to his CEO assignments, he was CIO of CSX Corporation, and was also a CIO and division President at several of GTE’s operations. Andrews also has deep experience in market research, having been the CEO of Giga Information Group before it was acquired by Forrester Research.

"Through ADAB, a strong mix of HASP customers as well as some of the nation's leading DRM specialists and other experts now regularly help shape technology and strategies surrounding the ever-dynamic software DRM space," said Avi Barir, vice president of Software DRM at Aladdin. "With our first meeting a great success, Aladdin sees ADAB as a truly effective force in further cementing Aladdin's innovation and commitment to customer-centric solutions that meet the demands software developers and publishers face daily.
