Aladdin and Wyse Partner to Secure Virtual Desktops
-
The global leader in thin computing integrates with Aladdin eToken to provide secure
access
-
CHICAGO, October 27, 2008 -
Aladdin Knowledge Systems
(NASDAQ:
ALDN),
an information security leader specializing in
authentication,
software DRM
and
content security,
and
Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced a worldwide
partnership. Wyse and Aladdin will provide enterprises a secure and flexible solution
combining
Wyse Thin Client roaming computing and
Aladdin eToken strong authentication
for secure access to corporate resources from any computer, safeguarding corporate
information while increasing productivity.
-
The joint solution can be viewed at the Aladdin and Wyse booths during the Citrix
Partner Summit event at the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan Resort in Orlando,
Florida on October 26th to 29th. Both Wyse thin clients and Aladdin eToken are Citrix
Ready Certified Solutions.
-
The Aladdin-Wyse solution allows users to securely access vital corporate information
and applications via the Wyse's thin client virtual environment. Using Aladdin eToken
certificate-based smartcard authentication, Wyse Thin Client users are able to securely
connect to corporate resources from any computer, increasing productivity while
on the road and ensuring organizations' security standards. The solution enables
users to simply verify their identity with their eToken device, and to launch their
individual desktop profile at the same point at which they ended the previous session,
enabling the user to resume work immediately even if they log in from a different
workstation.
-
By combining roaming desktop capabilities with smartcard-based login, organizations
are able to prevent unauthorized access to secured networks by eliminating walk-by
security breaches. Aladdin eToken allows companies to more easily comply with regulations
that require two-factor authentication to protect sensitive data, such as PCI-DSS,
HIPAA, SOX, and many others.
-
"We've seen tremendous growth in the thin client market and anticipate much more
as corporations increasingly turn to thin computing to reduce costs and enhance
security for mobile computing by combining strong authentication with virtual desktop
technology," said Ricardo Antuna, VP of Business Development & Product Management
at Wyse Technology. "The inherent security of Wyse thin clients combined with Aladdin's
eToken provides highly secure means for accessing virtual desktop environments,
enabling organizations to reduce cost, prevent data loss and increase employee effectiveness.
This is achieved by enabling them to securely connect to corporate resources and
applications from any computer."
-
"Secure network access and strong authentication is a growing concern among organizations
in order to maintain a secure environment, comply with regulations and prevent data
loss," said Phil Pavay, vice president of global business development at Aladdin
Knowledge Systems. "The combined solution from Wyse and Aladdin provides end users
with an easy-to-use solution that combines true mobility with the most robust security."
-
Aladdin and Wyse will collaborate on a worldwide basis to promote the joint solution,
enabling secure multi-session support, increasing user productivity by enabling
fully functional application interfaces and improving security compliance by leveraging
two-factor authentication technology. Channel partners and resellers will add value
to their customers by offering a scalable and flexible solution to address customers'
needs to reduce operational costs while improving security measures.
